Yahoo is one of the famous messengers throughout the world. It is the first messenger which has great reputation for chatting, image sharing, files transfer and voice chat. Yahoo is a user friendly software which is very easy to understand and good at its functionalities. Its messaging is one of the easiest and a free source of communication. Yahoo has mentioned that users can save their chat history on their computer till November end, after which that limited access will also be withdrawn.

As it had revealed last month, Yahoo is pointing users towards its invite-only group messaging app called Yahoo Squirrel. The app is currently in beta , and users can request an invite. As we mentioned, while you can't access Yahoo Messenger, users can download chat history onto their personal computer or device.

To do this, head to the downloader request site and sign in. Select a verification method, then enter the Account Key. Click Download, enter the email where you want the chat history file sent, click OK, check your email for the file, and download it from there on to your device. This displays the Yahoo Messenger window at the bottom of the screen. Type any username in the Messenger ID field, type a message and press "Enter" to send the message.

Click "Online Contacts" in the sidebar to display a list of your contacts who are available to chat. Click a contact name to start a conversation in a new Yahoo Messenger window. Click the "X" in the upper-right corner of the Yahoo Messenger window to end any open chats and close the window. Conversations are broken up into blocks of which ever comes first: either consist of 20 minutes of conversation or exchanged messages.

There's a trash can icon that appears over the conversation block header in the history that, when clicked, deletes that conversation. You can delete all conversations with a contact by opening the Conversation History with that contact and selecting the trash can icon displayed at the top of the conversation. However, deleting the conversation will only remove it from your own history and not the other contact's history.

However, any conversations you have over the smartphone Yahoo Messenger apps will still be recorded on Yahoo's servers. You can bring up the Conversation History from a chat you had over a smartphone app through the computer client version.
